Father And Mother, I Love You!
June 19, 2011
This is for my homework in NCM 101. We are asked to make an essay about family and this is what I made. I thought of posting this in my blog given that it’s almost been two months since I published my last post.. Here it goes…
One of the most common acrostics of FAMILY that I have encountered is comprised of the words Father And Mother, I Love You. My own understanding with this is that a family is made up of a man and a woman united as one by marriage. They may or may have no children depending on their choice. Love revolves around them and this makes them stronger as they face family problems.
Just like a typical family in a community, mine consists of a father, a mother, and a child which is me. This can be termed as a nuclear family.
Being the only child in our family, I always try to meet my parents’ expectations. They have dreamt of having a daughter which is a nurse. So as an obedient child, I took up Bachelor of Science in Nursing instead of my ambition to become a dignified lawyer.
Like any other families around the globe, ours is not perfect. Quarrels and simple misunderstandings revolve around us but we always make up to the point that we patch things up as soon as we can.
My father is a retired police superintendent in Manila while my mother looks after our house. Even though my father occasionally goes home, I just understand that he really needs to work away from us for us to have a better living.
I am delivered by my mother through a cesarean section on October 27, 1993. My parents have a lot of sacrifices so for me to pay them back, I must study hard and be good in school. I know that they have a lot of expectations from me so I do not want to break these.
I am thankful to God because I have supportive parents like them. Indeed, family plays a big role in becoming a better person.
