NBSB/NGSB is in!

I am an NBSB.

The feeling of never been kissed and never been touched is unique at the present time. With the filthy generation that we are being through, it is undoubtedly rare.

Whenever my friends ask me why, I really cannot answer them. It’s just that I cannot express the real reasons or do not know what will I answer to them.

            Perhaps you know what NBSB means. Yes, No Boyfriend Since Birth. Counterpart to that is No Girlfriend Since Birth (NGSB) for boys. Those who belong to these groups are singles and have never been in relationships.

            The acronym itself says it all and I think I do not have to dig more of what it is meant like.

            Apparently, I am not alone. There are still people who have not yet found their significant others or would-be significant others.

            As the UP Communication Research Society conducted a recent study about perceptions, attitudes, and practices of romantic love among UP Diliman students, three out of four students proclaimed themselves as single. 41%, which is the majority, have never been in a relationship. 36% are single but have been in a relationship. The rest are in open or exclusive relationship, or engaged.

In the survey, respondents were asked to explain love using 15 pairs of words. According to them, romantic love is attainable, fun, and mature. While romantic love can be mature, it is not boring, but fun and enjoyable.
